More than usual ?? I mean they usually do shrink quite a bit considering they are 90% water

LOL, I wondered about that, too.
Dehydrator without heating element, is a fan box.

I guess not. Hah sorry dude if I led you into doing something that the reset seem against. I know I read on here of someone else doing the same. I still have yet to get to my growing stages, so I wasnt sure if dehydrating at that high of temps did hurt anything. Worse case you could always reconnect if my method was followed.

Seems to me like you started the post under the impression that the heater needed to be removed. People just told you how to do it.
You'll find a lot of conflicting information about heat and potency. IME temperature <150oF for less than 18 hours doesn't effect potency.

well under another one of my post i told some people i thought i over dryed my mushrooms and they said thats because i had the heater in and i needed to mod it and take it out
but now i belive i know that i can safely say that the heater can stay?
i got to return my dehydrator and just say it doesnt work so i can get a new one that stil has the heater in

Doh that sux. But in your first post you started off saying you wanted it removed, you didnt ask if you needed it so i assumed you did want it out. But the way I did point out and mention in my steps is to snip the ground, so you could still use it in the future.

Shepx83 said: Id say snip like this, incase you needed to rehook, you could still do so.
You could still keep it connected in there, but it wouldnt be running. Eletric tape or cap off the end if you want to be extra cautious.
Better luck next time and hopefully you can get it returned.
