contams are rare for me,
but if they hit, usually whole batches get hit.

i say one of 10 or less.

About one in fifty. I think inoculation procedures are to blame for most contam issues, and not the grains or PC cycle. Alcohol swabbed cotton ball between each inoculation has always kept me out of trouble. There's no reason that someone shouldn't be running nearly 100% free from contams in the spawn/grain stage, once they get the procedures down.

If I have any jars fail it's usually due to improper moisture content, not contaminates. In fact, the only jars I've ever lost were due to cobweb mold from a bad print.

all or none. last time i lost every single one. the 2 times before i didnt lose a single one.

If it contams, it's because of spores, or the first times, I would cut corners on draining time; payed the price each time....

The only errors I ever had were moisture content as well.

I hate grain - I hate it with a fiery passion. Perhaps it's because that, being a non-US resident, my access to wbs and whole rye grain is virtually non-existant, or perhaps it's because I've never found the extra steps and time required to prepare grain are outweighed by it's "advantages".

I stick to PF substrate, grated, as spawn, and I have an insignificantly low contamination rate.

I haven't had a contam yet thank god. I think it makes me sort of have a big head about it. I guess I will get knocked down sometime and I will be hit hard by contams. But we'll have to wait and see for that time to come.

I have 2/10 that fail, but I do G2G transfers in open air.
