-==No pinning in jars!==- CONTAMED!?

Alright im at my last rope! ARGHHH!! I've got 12 1/2pint brf jars innoculated with GT the jars have been colonizing for about a month and a half not at optimal temps so thats why I gather they've been taking so long, some look 100% colonized but i've just been letting them sit there in hopes i'd see some invitro pins! BUT NONE! This makes me think that all i've got is a bunch of jars with cobweb mold! although I doubt that! How bad am I hurting my jars by just leaving them sit? Or should I birth em before there screwed permenantly!? People say have patients but others say dont worry if theres no pins just birth em.. I think i'll just cold dunk/shock then birth a couple and see if they pin... any suggestions!?

I dont have a problem in waiting, im just wondering if waiting TOO long is bad... well obviously... but do you think I need to be totally stressing over the jars going bad if I dont birth em? Thats all im scared about... but if waiting aint gonna hurt I can do.. i'll birth a couple and let the rest continue colonizing! Hopefully that'll work!

listen, I went through the same ordeal you're going through. They're probably fully colonized. My advice to you is to setup a grow chamber set it to 79 degrees, and let TIME take its course. like I was told "You can't just expect INSTANT SHROOMS" I got GTs too and I didn't see pinheads till 12 days after puttin them into the grow chamber. After they were colonized, I took the cakes out and cut them in half. Washed the jar w/ soap put the cut cakes in the jar, fill the jar w/ spring water and put the jars in the fridge overnight. Nxt day I took them out and put the cakes w/ the round side facing up. then after 2 flushes on the round side of the cake it'll start to die down, so flip em on the flat side after the 1st or 2nd flush.

They havent been gettin much indirect light could that be why I see no invitro pinning, im just gettin all freaked out that my jars will go bad if I leave em in there for too long! AHHH!! I think i'll just expose em all to some indirect light and maybe by some stroke of luck they'll pin, or i'll just birth em! who knows...

Well if you want to see invitro mushrooms you need to introduce the jars to light. Scrap out the vermiculite layer then tap the jars upside down so the cake drops a bit, this gives them a bit more room for invitro fruiting.

And yes, the jars can colonize too long, but your fine. The mycelium can only feed off nutrients for so long. When you let them colonize too long they use up all the nutrients and the cakes will start to rot and be infested with contamination.

What do you mean "always", you've only grown once.
