Intense rushes of hapiness and energy
    #5029343 -

followed by a short period of depression. Thoughts of suicide and feelings of low self-worth. What the fuck is the deal? Bipolar?

I think I'm going to call a Psychologist about this shit. It doesn't matter what drugs I'm taking (or not taking for that matter).

I'm running on empty.

How long do they last?

And what do you do when you get these rushes? Simply basking in them will result in the crash you describe. Putting them to use constructivley (art, music, dancing, work, sorting aspects of your life out etc) might prolong them somewhat.

Sounds bipolar to me. But get a professional opinion.

They last a few days while the depressing periods sometimes last longer. You better fucking believe I put them to use via exercise, drawing, programming, music, socializing and any other outlet i can filter them into.

I'm going to take the advice of the last poster and make an appointment.

Quote:
Symptoms of bipolar depressive episodes include low energy levels, feelings of despair, difficulty concentrating, extreme fatigue, and psychomotor retardation (slowed mental and physical capabilities). Manic episodes are characterized by feelings of euphoria, lack of inhibitions, racing thoughts, diminished need for sleep, talkativeness, risk taking, and irritability. In extreme cases, mania can induce hallucinations and other psychotic symptoms such as grandiose illusions.

I'd double check with a professional though.

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity. ~ Albert Einstein

Pretty much. Hate it though I do, I think that anti-depressants or something along those lines would be a good short term solution. Long term, definitely not, but I mean, if they keep you from committing suicide, then I think it's worth it. (Don't get me wrong, I believe in personal autonomy, including the right to commit suicide, but I still hate to see people do it.)

There are lots of alternative therapies that may prove more beneficial in the long run, maybe even short term too, like meditation, eating right, proper exercise, proper amounts of sleep, dancing, drumming, singing, artwork, a good hobby, herbal medications, etc.

I think you should wait. The thing you're describing seems pretty normal to me. I mean you don't have to be mentally ill to feel like that. Maybe you've gone throug a very emotional time, maybe you had some problems, and that's the reason you feel like that. A problem like yous only becomes a real problem when you or somebody else considers it to be wrong. Don't meke it seem bigger than it is, because it can become bigger. Try to spent some time by yourself, thnk about you, talt to "yourelf", maybe that's all you need. To put you thoughts in order.
Just an advice, cause that's whatn I do if I feel like you do and it works. You just have to be pactient and have confidence.

are you on any preseciptions and what drugs do you do recreationally, including cigs and alcahol and how often do you use them.

it could just be depression. how has your life been lately. how do you feel about where you are going in life and what you are doing. Are oyu happy with it?

generally there are reasons for depression and lifestyle changes and even diet can have profound effects on it. i know that it has for me.

I'm taking antibiotics but that's it. I don't smoke, I don't drink and I smoke weed when the mood strikes me (roughly 3-4 times a week). I take breaks from weed when I get sick of it.

I'm very happy with where my life is going, that's why these thoughts are so unwarranted. I am in the best shape of my life and I'm getting ready to transfer to a 4-year college.

I've improved my diet drastically in the past few months. I usually have oatmeal, orange-juice and an apple for breakfast. soup/sandwich for lunch and something heavier for dinner (pasta, pizza, etc)
