I tried the inner drinking staw tek to try and get more flushes from my cakes and ended up with less. The straws are prob 1 inch in the cake and 2-1/2 inches out.As soon as the cakes were birthed i started filling them withwater and refilled when empty.I've been getting ok 1st flushes and then the cake turns blue and stalls.Did i miss something because the very first batch i did useing the pf tek and pf syringe without the straw tek resulted in huge yeild but having to fan, mist and sponge water from the bottom of aquarium. Lots of work i didnt mind doing but thought there has to be a better way.I also liked the fact i had a way of handling the cakes by grabing the straw so i didnt have to touch them. Thanks Guys for all your help.Peace

It works, but there are better way sin my opinion. Dunk after birthing and each flush, and use wet verm on the top and bottom and you'll have more than ample water

I think the method I'm gonna use from now on is to set the cakes directly on perlite, and dunk them after the second or third flush. I have cakes that are on flush number 6 and putting out big fruits. I'm gonna dunk them again and see how much longer they'll go.....

"i started filling them withwater and refilled when empty"
I've read that this tek is for rehydrating the mycellium not to drawn it, i just think you should have given this procedure bigger "dry" intervals.

Dont put it right on the perlite, they get too waterlogged. Getsome tinfoil. Make some square trays with a lip around the end, put some verm (damp) on it. Set it on there. Then some damp verm on top of the cake. Works 10x better.
And you should dunk after every flush

Funny, I don't have a problem with waterlogged cakes. Just lots of 'shrooms :
This cake is on it's 6th flush. There are 15 shrooms growing on this one. I just dunked it 4 days ago. It's sitting directly on the perlite and it seems to me that my cakes are using the water to make shrooms instead of sitting there getting waterlogged.....
