since its getting cold, make a big beer, like at least 7%. There this beer I made with pumpkin, cinnamon, sweet orange peel, nutmeg, cloves, cardamom, and molasses. Its sorta like the Anchor Our Special Ale 2004, but more alcohol. It really tastes like the holidays, and was 7.7% ABV last year.

Looks like a good deal, except one thing makes me wary. The 5 gallon SS pot. You need to verify that it is a SS pot and not some aluminum piece of crap.

yeah excellent deal, the pot is worth more than $60 by itself, do you know if it has an internal element or external?

i am wondering is it ok to use a internal element to brew the wort? would it burn?

Thats a GREAT deal.. 5 gallon pot plus bottles..

Usualy the kit goes for $50 and up without the pot or bottles...

Just do it Afof... Thats what you got to tell yourself.. Just get the kit and spend a day brewing.. In a month youll wonder why you never did this before...

If you do it soon enough then you can give some as gifts for the holidays..

I went to a local place and got everything you see here.



Everything you need plus ready made recipe for first batch with a set of stainless steel pots/lids for $100..

Bottles were bought later for 25 cents ea.

One month after that it was time to drink.

Now that Ive got everything, it costs about $25 bucks to make 5 gallons..

I am here!

I got this place in the Italian section of my hood that kicks ass!!!!!

You can buy all the ingrediants for beer. All the yeasts sugars refining agents.
They sell pot stills.....

They even sell grapes by the case. You can go in buy your carboy vessel. You can pick the kind of grapes you want. They will juice them for you right into the chamber. 5 to 10 gallon vessels full of grape juice ready to get knocked up with a good yeast. The store is amazing. Lol every time i go, i drop a couple houndred dollars on stuff.

I don't know what's closer to you, the place that
gabba mentioned or culver city.

there's a big homebrew store in culver too.

the maltose falcon's site has lots of good info though.

not me personally, but my roomate brews.

he buys all his ingredients at Bell's General Store, and makes some tasty brews (although the latest batch had waaay too much honey in it and started exploding after a month or so)
