Do cyans grow in the portland metro area. because All ive managed to fing this season are azures. I always hear about people finding them in parks in the seatle area, but what do they mean by parks, like forest type parks or public parks.

What the hell! My weekend plans completely failed.. The damn temperature have fallen below zero and all wet snow on the field turned into ice. Together with all possible mushrooms inside :frown:

-Hey, what are doing here in the forest?!
-I'm..I'm just picking mushrooms..
-Look, he's  j u s t  picking mushrooms! Is that you who planted them?!

Need I repeat myself?

oregonshroomer you can find cyans outside your local police station if the council use woodchips to decorate their garden(s). Public park or woodland park, as long as woodchips are visible then so may cyans be. Just look!

The frost doesnt have much to do with it. Cold nights warm days and rain. If it frosts a night no different then if it didnt. If the frost doesnt last a day or two your fine. If it frosts hard.....Then the mushies the next warm day will be mush....

Its been a late starting season in a way.....

Last nigh I found my first cyans in a park in hillsboro. THere was only about four or five though, and a couple looked almost dead. I think they got froze or something. Their a lot smaller than I had imagined them since the mushies I've ever picked are azures.

Congrats man, maybe I'll have to move my cyan huntings over to one of Portland's surrounding cities. I can't even tell you how much me, Exist and others have explored with no luck in Portland. Did you find them a wood-chipped area?

I am interested in this as well.
It frosted here this morning and rained the day before. I found nothing but dried up mushrooms on my hunt this morning.

I don't mind being ogled, ridiculed, made to feel minuscule.
If you consider the source, it's kinda pitiful
The only thing you really know about me is.....That's all you'll ever know!!!!
