Picking Ginseng

How funny, over the past couple days ive posted in the pub about ginseng, health, and ethical work...

Now.. i just got a job picking + cleaning ginseng for the next 2 months, starting tommorow.

The man i spoke with was very foreign, perhaps east indian -

From what ive gathered, i called him at 11am tommorow and he'll pick me up at 1:30 and take me out to the fields. He says its inside work..

Im warry that he may try and rip me off, its $8 bucks an hour.. and a MAJOR ginseng grower on the outskirts of town.

Yay? how do i protect myself? write down my hours, and take my breaks..

Document everything, make it obvious you are doing so. Find out how/when you'll be paid...not much more you can do. Sounds like that would be an interesting job for a while, hope it works out for you :smile:

also, just discussing with some friends know, through the grapevine i know of 3 people who have done it at the same place, and 1 may still be there.
