Dunk
    #487131 - 12/11/01 07:23 AM (21 years, 11 months ago)

First off, I'd like to thank whoever developed the dunk tek. Real nice flushes since I started utilizing it. However, I only use it to dunk cakes and heard you can use it for dunking casings too. How would this be done? Would you scrape off the casing everytime you dunk between flushes?
Thanks for the response beforehand.
Peace.

you are welcome.
but dunking casings is sort of redundant, since the casing can easily be misted to ensure proper moisture content.
in addition, dunked casings are very prone to contamination as there are many hidden pockets to trap water.
that said, i have heard a few success stories about dunked casings, and you are correct in assuming you'll need to remove most of the old casing, then dunk, then re-case.

To any newbies that are having a hard type getting mushrooms of any substantial size, I recommend attempting this tek. Good job, Hippie3.
Peace.
