I am almost ready to birth my cakes.
    #465907 -

I am almost ready to birth my cakes but I want to know if anyone has an idea on what type of container to use to sterilize the vermiculite and peat moss in the pressure cooker. I don't want to buy a filter patch bag. I have a food saver with vacuum pack bags and they are boilable. Should I put the peat moss and vermiculite mix in them and seal completely or set the bag in the middle of the pressure cooker and leave the top open? How high should I fill my pressure cooker with water? Thanks.

pasturization is the best way to go. But if you want something easier for a begginger that will give you good results,

Try this. mix the verm, peat and water together. then put in a large roasting pan ( like you use for turkeys ) and cover tightly with tin fiol. then bake in the oven at 300 degrees for 1-2 hours. let cool put don't remove the foil until ready to us.
