Birthing cakes...
    #430443 - 10/19/01 11:41 AM (22 years, 11 months ago)

Is it ok to birth cakes on the day or a day after 100% completion. Is it recommended or should I wait a couple days after? I'm growing in cakes, not caseings.

I really think you should wait for invitro pins. A cake can sit in a terrarium for weeks without pinning.

Do GC pin invitro easily? Whats the difference in waiting for invitro pins and waiting for pins in a terrarium? What percations should I take for nvitro pins (Other than loosening the jar lids (less C02) and direct sunline (probably 12/12)) ?

Dont wait for invitro pins!
Afoaf had 4 colonized Pes hawaiin jars used 2 to spawn dung and got a massive first flush took 2-3 weeks He left the other 2 jars alone and they never pinned invitro Now there spawing more dung he tells me.
Same with peurto ricans jars were 100% colonized for over a month still no invtro pins.
Afoaf gets invitro pins easily with the thai ks strain
I wouldn't suggest it for GC's there a bit tricky...

hey, hope someone reads this in here.... i'm leaving my babies for three nights as of tomorrow. one is 98% colonized, another mayb 70% and growing FAST! if i come back and there are some in vitro pins on the most advanced jar, can I still case it? will covering the pins with casing encourage them to rot and contam the casing? Also, if this isn't bad per se, is it better to case a cake before it pins in vitro?
