Three stupid questions

Hello everyone. I just started my very first attempt at growing P. Cubensis. I am using the quart jar method that is explained at the shroomery growth methods section because I dont have much space to grow in. I have three questions.

1)Is it ok to expose the jars to light during the colonization period or should I keep them in complete darkness for the first week.

2)Should I be keeping the jars warm by using a heating pad or is that only if your house is really cold?

3)I used a normal canner instead of a pressure cooker and the brown rice seemed to cook thouroughly so should that be fine or should I go out and buy a pressure cooker?

1) Yes, light is good.
2) A heating pad will bake your jars dry, unless you're heating a humidified incubation chamber.
3) You need a pressure cooker.

1. keep them in the dark untill they are fully colinezed

2. use a heating pad or some thing it makes them grow faster i just sit mine on the hot water heater
3. pressure cooker is always better but you might be alright this time...........if you have the means to get a presurecooker get it pc's are 100% assurence of 0% contamination
