nipples on guys and why 2 testicles?

i mean seriously why do men have nipples other than the fact we start out as women. i mean shouldnt we have ovaries then and if not shouldnt the nipples serve a purpose? also we only need one testicle so why 2? man these are the most mind boggling questions i could ever think of......niples and 2 testicles.....wtf :crazy2:

There's lots of 2s in the human body as it is to a point somewhat symetrical.

Male nipples can actually lactate on occasion. It's rare but it happens!

nipples are formed when we are still undergoing the change to men..

our body forms nipples before it checks to see if we will be male or female...and by the time it says 'male' the nipples are already formed

A male fetus and a female fetus do not start to develop differently until a few weeks into the pregnancy. By this time, the building blocks for nipples have been created. The female fetus continues to build upon this foundation while the male fetus does not.

This isn't accurate. Both male and female fetus start out the same way, but it would be an error to label a male fetus as starting out female. Genetically they are different, even if the physical construction is nearly identical.

Nope. Ovaries and testicles start to develop a bit later in the pregnancy.

As Seuss and others pointed out, humans (and all mammals) start out as a fetus in the same way whether they are male or female. Our nipples start to form before the differentiation process begins - before we "become" male or female.

Notice that you have just about two of everything on your body. Also notice how the left-side of your body is a mirror image of the right-side of your body.

This symmetry started with lowly worms, almost a billion years ago. They developed a center-line symmetry - the right side was a mirror-image of the left side. This symmetry has stayed in pretty much all higher forms of life that have evolved from those simple worms.

If you've ever disected a worm, you'll notice that it actually has two brains which are quite separate (I think...I could not find any joining nerve tissues). In humans we think of ourselves as having "one brain"...but in fact it is two brains which have grown to link together (by the corpus callosum). Just a few steps up the ladder from our worm cousins :smirk:

Redundancy is wise in case of catastrophic failure or damage. Designers of chemical processing plants and oil refineries know this, if you get a chance one day to check one out, you'll see back up pumps and generators for just about every process. Reproduction is the most important process a living organism can perform if the genetic code is to survive beyond the individual.

Funny no one's said this...

I've always been impressed upon that one testicle is the semen 'factory' while the other is a semen 'warehouse'... one produces the goods, the other one stores it up until you're ready to... well, you know where I'm going with this.
