Best band
    #4520968 -

Yeah we have the worst band thread and I was just thinking this is just as pointless, and arguement-prone.
So here we go...

Social Distortion,
AC\DC,
AFI,
The Locust,
and Johnny Cash, the one man band. :elvis:

I'm assuming we're talking rock bands here, so I'd say...

The Beatles

I think no one has yet beaten them in terms of quantity and quality of hit songs.

the beatles also were revolutionary, having influenced countless other bands and musicians ... i don't think there could be a best band, but they are way up there

Yrtlzmo said:
Come on man, at least accept that your favourite bands can't be considered the best by any standard, I have.

One of my favourite bands is Of Montreal, but there's no fucking way they're the best band.

If they're the best then they need to make high quality music, Green Day and Weezer aren't going to cut it. I'm a Weezer fan too (pre Make Believe), but seriously.

So let's see a high quality, original, revolutionary band that progresses in a good way and doesn't fizzle out with embarassing music towards the end of their career? Uh, fuck, I hate to be boring, but The Beatles. I wouldn't say their music is as high quality by todays standards as in the 60s, but a lot of their songs still stand the test of time, they were good.

Very, very good point, I was actually going for more of your own personal favorites, than "best" band, as if such a thing could exist.

But like someone said, The Beatles are definately high on the list.

well i thought about it for a while and it is absolutely crazy to think that there could be a 'best band' I assume most people would pick bands assigned with some kind of strong memory experience?

i would consider music written by a single or multiple inspired minds at a single location to be of 'best' quality but bands are different, they are deliberate

Shadow Gallery or The Beatles
