What caused the cobweb mold???<--HELP

I birthed 4 cakes in an aquarium on monday using the perlite humidification method. Lastnight it got down to about 70 degrees, (usually 78-80). I have the cakes sitting on the jar lids upsidedown. This morning there was cobweb in the gap between the cake and the jar lid. What would cause this??? I picked it off and set it directly n the perlite. Is there any chance for it??

It's probably just mycelium trying to bridge the gap. If the air is humid enough, it will also try to reach out from the substrate to find more food source.
