Cobweb mold!?

Well now! This is my 3rd grow so im not THAT much of an amature, and i've never experienced a contam, which is probably a bad thing seeing as how all my good luck just shit on my face... I did 12 PF Jars and innoculated em with my GT syringe I made, I did everything on the oven surface, used TONS of alcohol, Lysol, Bleech everything! I was sooo sterile it wasnt even funny... and every single one of my jars looks like this! I totally thought it was mycellum because of EVERY jar lookin like this, but at first I second guessed it because it was a light white/grey.... well whats your opinions...

if it smells mushroomy I would think your fine.

I cant really smell it unless I open it up, all I can say is it doesnt look like mycellum but i've only seen a couple jars previously... i'll take some better pics soon if you cant tell

I still cant see why every single jar is contamed with cobweb mold, I used 2 syringes, so what could of caused it! bad print is the only thing I could think of, who knows.. man am I pissed! arghh..

From your crappy photo I would say it's probably mycelium.

Ya I should of had my digi on macro, those jars are after about a week of innoc, does that seem too fast? I'll check em when I get back with better pics to and i'll crack em and smell em... at first I thought it could be cobweb because it wasnt pure white like the mycellium I was use to seeing, and a friend of mine garunteed me it was cobweb, so im still wondering! ahhhh how will I ever know!? hahah... I think a smell will do when I get back....

ya, i've read average colonization for GT is 15 days so it doesnt seem obsurd... I was soooo sterile in my procedures.. and I made 2 syringes so I could see if maybe half of them got contamed, but all of em!? highly unlikely... who knows.. i'll smell em soon...

and my jars were all pressure cooked at 15Psi for a good 45min, so it must have been my syringe... hmmm, who knows it might be perfect myceullium growth, im not around my jars now so I cant check till fri, i'll keep you posted..

If all the jars look like that, then it is most likely weak mycelium growth. Give it a few days, you'll be fine.

If this is your 3rd grow, you should easily be able to distinguish cobweb from mycelium.

dont throw em away. just birth them and if it never pins its cobweb. if it pins its mycellum. isnt cobweb harmless to humans?

Wait a couple of days an report any change.
BTW, it looks like mycelium but the pic is a bit blury. If you're not achieving the 86 F incubation temp, it's about time you do so.

yes im around 85F and i've never really experienced cobweb mold so thats why im not familiar with it, well hopefully it aint, and i'll keep you posted with more pics and stuff...

ya I am, and at first this didnt look like the mycellum I was use to, but i've only seen it grow from start to finsih once, so I figured it could be somthing else, but we'll see soon enough....

WELL THEN! Now tell me if THIS looks like cobweb mold haha, I gather its not but some people still might think diffrent haha who knows... By the way these are the same jars 2 weeks later, some are almost 95% colonized, others only like 10%...

Buddy, trust me when I tell you that its cobweb mold. You have 12 jars, bust ONE of them open and check it out, I am saving you time for the gamble of only one lost "cake" even though its just a big lump of cobweb mold. I guarantee it.

Looks like mycelium and contamination to me. Can you get a better shot of those black spots in the substrate?
