aight, im having problems with my coolmist setup in my martha, i duct taped off everything but the output...thing. Its a standard Vicks coolmist that looks like this

anyways i have plastic tubing about 3 feet long coming out of the output "valve" and into the martha. Ive got funnels on either end going into the martha and taped to the output to channel it properly. Ive had to tie a plastic trash bag around the humidifier though because every time i come home theres a puddle of water underneath it and its not humidifing properly at all.

Any suggestions on what i can do?

Chances are, you didnt make the new output the same size. If you dont allow the air to escape, at its got to run through a bunch of small tubing, then there will be back pressure and water will leak out of the sides. You need to add a bigger hose, or a second one.

what i did was i placed a funnel over the output so it "funneled" lol the water into the smaller tubing gradually

still a bad idea?

A bottleneck is a bottle neck no matter where it is..you need the entire hose to be the width of the opening that exists, or bigger, since there is length that it has to push out too, any bends or twists in the tubing would further restrict it too, just a bit, so I'd go with bigger if you can.
