Help with pressure cooking substitute
    #4474975 - 07/30/05 11:05 PM (11 years, 11 months ago)

I plan to try cultivating for my first time and have a rather limited situation. I'm in a dorm room and the main step I am unable to accomplish is the pressure cooking. I don't have a stove or a pressure cooker for that matter, and the closest thing to it that I have is a microwave. Is there away to accomplish the cooking with a microwave (I saw that a susbstitute for pressure cooking is a pot of boiling water) or is there any other way I can do this? Thanks.
~ David

nope you need to steam or PC your jars. If you live in a dorm, dont be dumb and do this. You're just asking to get busted.

I do have a hot plate, as well as a big pot. Would that work? And how do I go about cooking the jars in the pot? Should the water boil? I just want to make sure I do it right.

put ur jars in a pot and add water till about half way up the jars. then when water boils turn down the heat and cover with lid for 60 mins that should do the trick it works for me PS put a washcloth in the bottom of the pot first and cover jars with tinfoil. Also, you my want to slightly loosen the lids then tighten when cool.

I agree.

Even if it's with people you trust.
