When movies make me cry,

I feel a sense of purpose that I always seem to have forgotten. I remember why I love art and why I feel like an artist. When I'm sitting there in a dark theater, watching someone's careful work placed upon the screen, forgetting about all the different people and moments and work that went into it, and all of a sudden a picture and a sound and either words or silence all come together to form something intangible inside me, some button gets pressed and EMOTION gets turned on, however that works...I remember how important it is to create. I wake up the next day with that sense of purpose that can become so elusive when you get caught in the day to day humdrum of everything you're tied to. That's a very special thing...very special indeed.

the craziest/best is when music turns on that emotion - not even necessarily by the lyrics, but just by the feeling in the tune - it's amazing how vibrating frequencies can somehow overwhelm you and break down all these 'barriers' that we constantly walk around with...

Last night, in Edward Scissorhands, when Kim found Edward all alone at home towards the end and she took him in her arms and let him hold her, and he experienced complete wholeness for the first time in his life, I mentally lost it. I didn't physically sob...just tears leaking you know. But goddamn it felt good.

I was watching that on tv the other day as well, and realized i hadnt seen that movie in 6 or 7 years. I wasnt filled with the same thing you were, but I did have a pretty big shock at how different the movie was watching it now instead of as a 16 year old.

I cried during March of the Penguins. And at the end of Lost in Translation. Can't think of anything else? Recently? Oh, and Contact, but I'm a science nerd who cries over good science.

milo and otis always made me cry when i was little.

shit i just found out that it actually was originally a japanese movie, and there was all this controversy over it having animal cruelty in it... crazy shit!

There's a couple movies that can do it to me..

I remember watching the end of The Stand recently jerked a few tears loose..
I can't seem to recall what other movies... but I know they are there
