Extracting Psilocybin From a Bird Seed Jar

My friend has any extra birdseed jar that you wants to perform a psilocybin extraction to the Mycelium. It is basicly just for shits and giggles. But would just adding some methanol into the jar and letting it sit in a warm water bath for a little bit work? Or would it pull stuff out of the birdseed too?

It is my understanding that psilocybin is water soluble, so methanol may not make a great extract. There is an Q & A on this at Dr. Shulgin's sight that mentions optimal ratio of methanol to water.
