little pins growing around the sides - a simple ?

i have about 4 cakes of treasure coast, and i've had them in the terranium for a few weeks now, and i see pins growing up at their base, but none on the white mycelium. the pins are pinkish, and not very thick, they are about the girth of a mouse cord. what's going on?

Perfectly normal from your description. You may see pins forming on the sides or top later, but the base is where they tend to form first (are they sitting on perlite?). I'd say give it a couple more days and you'll be happy with the progress.
