Technology = The Fall of Mankind?
    #4410113 -

I'd have to say yes. That is if humans don't nuke themselfs off this world first.

We're just in a stage of instability. The technological era is still relatively new to mankind, and we're still mastering its use. I think it's just a matter of time before we invent technology that's beneficial in both the short and the long terms.

I dont think technology is new to mankind. Humans have been using technology for tens of thousands of years.

Unfortunately for them humans have evolved the need for technology. We cannot survive without it. An example off of the top of my head is feet. Modern human feet cannot withstand walking in any natural environment for miles/years without bleeding and becoming infected. We need the technology of shoe making to survive.

I didnt look at that website, I will after this post, but its funny that an anti-technology group has a web site.

"in times of widespread chaos and confusion, it has been the duty of more advanced human beings - artists, scientists, clowns, and philosophers - to create order. In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption"

Economy of scale = The fall of mankind

The powerful will always have disproportionate power over the weak. Technology will exacerbate this several fold unless the weak learn to fully harness the power of technology to their advantage instead of letting big money develop it.

If we continue to allow big money to control technology then they will own us all very soon.

I cannot speak for the primativists, since I do not share their world view. However, I see no problem with a few allies of theirs creating a website for the purpose of putting out info/propaganda for primative cause.

I don't think technology is at all, maybe it just makes it faster.  I think mankind is the fall of mankind.....

I think technology is like fire - it can be utitlized for the good and creative or it can used for destruction and injustice.

Do you really believe this?! It just goes to show how out of touch people are with their own nature. Just so you know, when you go barefoot for a long period of time your feet automatically adapt by forming a hard layer of skin on your soles which protects against injuries and infections. Shoes aren't necessary except in extreme conditions like spikey jagged surfaces, or snow/ice, hot coals, etc.

I seen people walk on coals barefoot. Id rather do that then go for a stroll out in the desert.

I dont think spikey jagged surfaces, snow and ice are extreme conditions, I think they are the norm. Sure if I lived on the beach in san diego, id be barefoot all the time.
