Seuss the point of this thread was that we might be using alien technology as we speak. So i base my case on the assumption that the aliens in question would be organic in nature not some kind of energy that you people seems to love so much.
IF aliens have visited us AND crashed one of their ships here for us to find i think its reasonable to assume that the aliens would not be godlike.

By future technologies I'm referring to things such as fusion devices, superstring theory etc etc but hey at least we have theories.
And what makes you so sure that an alien race have their own set of physical laws to abide to? I mistakenly took you for a man of science.

There is a huge difference in evolution if you compared a man to a monkey so the dolphin analogy you made is flawed. Evolution is not linear you know.
I highly doubt we would be regarded as ants to any alien race that would have an interest in studying our planet. Sure we might be backward by their standards but i doubt they would think of us as insignificant.

Of course technology such as a "warp drive" or whatever would be impossible for us to comprehend and would most likely blow us all up if we where to tamper with it but but to think that we could not gain anything at all from a crashed space ship is stretching it. I think you underestimate the resourcefulness and greediness's of human beings. Do you for example think that aliens would have their own set of math?

Note that I'm talking about aliens dumb enough to crash a spaceship and let us have a look at it. I'm pretty sure that there are aliens out there that are hundreds of times more advanced than us.

I started thinking about that "we" are the technology part on a shroom trip once. I concluded that an alien race had designed and built us to be a weapon of mass destruction on a much larger scale than we could imagine(time wise).

If you think about it, humans are designed to be a perfectly operational weapon. We destroy almost everything we come in contact with, we can learn quickly and easily, we also follow orders easily and conform easily as well. When the time came to take the weapon out of action, we could simply be turned against each other (Like every war on earth) and we would kill ourselves completely.

Also if you think that there are aspects of life that are purely fun, peaceful, loving, then maybe these are either a mistake in our 'programming' or they serve some purpose i.e. keeping the 'soldiers' happy.

I also agree with seuss in his explanation of how alien alien tek really is. Although there is the slight chance that it might somehow be related to something that we do comprehend, in which case we could work from there.

Speaking of computer languages (to add something worthwhile to this post), these are a few of the ones I do speak:

Assembly:  Intel (80x86), Sparc (v8 and v9), Motorola (86k, 88k, hc11), MicroPic
Forth, C, C++, Java, Perl (bleck), PHP, SED, AWK, SQL, VHDL, ADA, sh, csh (bleck), lisp

I am probably forgetting a few that I have known, but would need to look up how to do most things again... RTL, RPL, JPL, etc...

A lot of our technology, actually.

The Stealth Bomber and similar planes were inspired by the aliens, with their density-shifting "disappearing" ships. However, they suck in comparison. They don't really disappear, they can't travel through hyperspace, and they are loud..they don't even use anti-gravity..what a joke  :tongue:

Alot of stuff was inspired by  the aliens, some of it was relayed. I'm sure everyone knows by now the government's dealings with the Zetas back in the 50s.. exchaning technology and information for human donors...yeah pretty standard stuff really.. they needed complete human DNA and genes to heal their species, in exchange for some technology. Half of it we're still trying to figure out how it works. It's pretty simple stuff too.

Bombs are dumb. I know we didn't get those from the aliens. They don't bother wasting time and resources killing themselves. And if someone is gonna kill them, they just neutralize them.

Nanotechnology is another story altogether.

Ya.. we could gain something.. unless it was fueled by element 115 which cannot be found on Earth. They reverse-engineered it, and figured it all out, except for the element 115, which seemed to be the power source. Even if they do get some, they won't be able to control it, creating a gravity field and controlling it takes a complete understanding, not based on some half-assed, kind of..I-think-it-may-be-this-way physics.

I don't think they crashed on accident. But that's just my opinion. As is everything I say.

you can say tesla was crazy, but everytime you flip a light switch or any other device that uses alternating current, you are using his "crazy ideas".

Aliens are no where near the boudary of my thought.

Multi-Dimensions seem to me much closer to the edge than aliens. Evolution itself proves the existence of aliens if applied to the universe instead of the planet.
