? on non-nutri. casing layer.

I have 2 casings that where started in 1/2 pints, of B/S.
After 100% colo. I crumbled and put a layer of dung on them in my casing trays. The mycl. grow very nice....but I mis understood something.......I now need a non-nutri. layer on top of my casing layer, so I can fruit. Well i'm out of funds at the moment, but I do have a shit load of verm. Will a layer of verm. work for Pan. Cyans. if so then how thick should i go.
I know my writting is a little loose here(in a rush), but I think I should mention that I put another layer of dung on top of the layer of dung that was there. The mycl. is showing through again.....so what now?
