lipa yai without poo?

Will this strain grow just as well as others on just BRF, cased to 50/50, or does it require poo to do well? Every grow of it I've found is on poo lol.

It'll work on BRF, but results with cubensis on cakes are almost always sub par, sorry to say.

yeah they do well on brf but as diver said sub par. that is compared to poo. i usually had about 5-7g's per cake of them on brf cakes. how's that print look to ya myndreach? i have had much better luck on the poo with the lipa yai but i don't even think that the two can be compared. peace

happy to hear bro, haven't tried the maz but i know the lipa yai is a fast colonizer and a prolific fruiter ime. i guess it doesn't matter which you do first though, you'll eventually use both anyway, right? good luck peace

Doing one more grow probably with 2 strains, one of which will be P.Envy...deciding between the Lipa Yai, B+, and Mazatec for the second. Maybe just do 12 jars, 4 of each, p.envy, lipa yai, and mazatec? ;-)

sounds like a plan. that will let you see the diff between the strains colonization times. not that they will always perform the same everytime. ime the lipa have always been one of the fastest though followed a close second by tapalpa and b+. why only one more grow? peace

well, my son is 2...and a family member comes over every night for 1 hour to watch my son while i go to school and before my wife gets home.
So everyday I have to move the fruiting chamber and hide it in the closet, and move the incubator into the closet as well...basically a combination of the inconvenience of keeping shit hidden, and my son getting old enough to talk about what I grow hehe. I wouldn't want him to say to my mom when she's watching him, "Hey noni, come look at daddy's mushrooms!" Lol...as it is now, when I fan/mist, he loves to watch and says, "muhhhrooom, muhhrooom" lol.

The flush size is directly related to the amount of substrate used. When you use poo in your grow, you are adding more substrate for the mushrooms to grow off of. If you want the same results with BRF cakes, you need to use a bunch of them! Maybe switch to WBS or another bulk sub if you don't want to do the poo?
