Lipa Yai Strain?

Has anyone here grew this strain and did it work out well? Reason I ask is I read on ralphstersspores this.
"Awesome rizomorphic cubies. Wonderful performer with meaty fruits! Prints are average to dark. The Lipa Yai strain is similar to the Koh Samui strain in the fact it is a fast colonizer, is a strong resister to contamination, fruits very easy and fast, and is very potent for a cubensis. The big difference in the 2 is that the Lipa Yai grows taller and produces a lighter cap. The Koh Samui tends to produce smaller, yet very thick stemmed and large caps, while the Lipa Yai grows taller, semi-thick stems, and semi-large cap. Both are excellent strains."
I did a search on yahoo about it and it looks like alot of peoples didn't work out. I like this strain since it says "Resists Contamination Well, Fruits easy and fast, fast colonizer"
Is there any truth to this?

A lot of the thai strains are hard to grow they are for advanced cultivators, if you are fruiting cakes I wouldnt suggest either one, Ban Phang Ka is an easy thai strain. And they are Huge!!

Honestly, I haven't seen a difference in that strain or others I have grown (about 4 others). It did colonize a bit faster, but "meaty fruits" were rather skinny for me. They did have rather large caps compared to the stems though.
Used WBS spawned to poo.

I have just seen more complaints about the thai strains than any other, a lot of people hate koh samui a few love it, this isnt based on scientific data but i see a lot of noobs have good luck with non-thai strains.

come on mate - you dont need to be an advanced cultivator to grow any cubensis strain. Lipa Yai were one of the first i grew and they were weedy and not particularly interesting. It depends what your after - the thai strains throw off more fucked up phenotypes than other strains ive grown - which isnt a good thing if your going multispore i guess. If you want some good, easy and decent strains my advice would be to go with the tried ones or maybe the argentinean or palenque.
As for more complaints - the Koh Samui was always crap -

Hi time2, I have had good success with this strain sorces from a local guys in Australia. I can vouch for most of the claims. It is very fast and rizomprphic. Strong resistant to contaims. Fruits easily, Many flushes. Lots of aborts though. I can't confirm potency, as I have only done B+ in the past, and i was less successful then. All in all, I found this very easy to grow.
I can give you detials on the Tek I used if interested, and I have some nice photos.
I even got some to grow outdoors...

I wasnt saying you need to be an advanced cultivator to get fruits from Thai strains, I was implying its for a more advanced non noob, it will be much easier to get a more stable strain at first until you learn how mushies like to be treated.

Go with some of the classics, Cambo, Golden Teacher, EQ, South American That Roadkills special looks cool at ralphsters, he also has a 6 pack special where you can choose your own strains, Im not sure what you budget is but I would reccomend a classic.

personaly i haven't grown the lipa yai but i have seen it grow. no contam issues but didn't see anything that made it realy stand out either.
as for koh samui being crap i have been working with the koh samui latley and i think it's an ok strain. very rhyzomorphic in the casing but not in the jar.
