    #4397282 - 07/12/05 09:13 PM (11 years, 4 months ago)

I just picked up a kilo of light malt extract and dextrose (finally)

But they come in plastic bags, ill only need a tbl spoon or two at a time, so how should i store it?

Is it okai to pour it all out into a tupperware container and store it in that?
thanks.

Either that, or just close up the bag it came in and put it in the pantry, etc.

What im worried about, will the malt or dextrose go bad if it isnt air tight?
Can the stuff go off?

Go off? I don't understand. Anything goes bad over time when exposed to air, your job is to remove as much air as possible and store it properly. Put the original bag inside a larger ziplock, suck all the air out, and then seal it. You'll be fine, it isn't that critical when dealing with dextrose and malt.

TRUE...............

So long as it is kept BONE DRY & clean, you are fine storing it in a tight zip lock, autoclave bag, plastic peanut better jar, or glass jar.

Let it get moist, you end up with rock candy. :stoned:
