AGar colonizatoin / Malt Extract liquid mycellium

Hey, i have my agar colonizing in my incubation chamber @ approx 28-29 degrees celcuis. they have been there for 5 days now, the B+ strain is showing white puffs on top, and the australian are looking promising.
I was wondering why they are taking so long, or is that just normal for spores to germinate on agar.
i'm using potatoe dextrose agar by the way,

Also, has anyone ever tried malt extract liquid medium???

I use the Malt extract liquid cultures and have great success.
Works for me...

Yeah, i made up some Liquid malt extract solution, i used about 4 grams per 95mL of water...
How long does this method normally take if colonized from agar?
spores?

i have done both.

What are your ratios?  I have 2 containers of


Liquid Malt Extract I got for beer making.  Would like to use it up.
