Spirit Guides or over active imagination?

So I did a bit of reading about Spirit Guides and found this meditation technique that allowed you to "see" them. Well, I gave it a go, and this is what I saw:
Sorry, but i'm no artist.

It appeared just as the technique said it would - starting in the distance and gradually coming closer. But then it occured to me that i've been seeing this thing when i'm almost asleep for about as long as I can remember....I think it's probably ust one of those dirty retina type thingies..

What the hell is a spirit guide, or spirit guide(s) supposed to look like anyway?

A spirit guide is usually your higher self. It will look like whatever you expect it to look like.
