    #436685 -

Can these little bad lads be grown with woodchips like one would acquire at a pet store?

The ones you aquire at a pet store are usually pine or cedar, and If I remember right, these are not good to grow on, this is not to say that I am right or that it is impossible, though.

well i read on the find/grow section that one could use cardboard and the PF tek to cultivate azurescens. Sounds too easy though. has to work if its there though, right?

I have had poor luck with fresh types of wood. Old weathered sticks and branches like the kind you would use to start a fire work best. Soak the wood in water for two weeks and then put it dripping wet into a plastic bag for another two weeks and it is ready to go. It may be a good idea to pasteurize the wood before spawing it but this is not necessary. I don't find that the kind of wood is important. Even old pine cones work.

Would baking the wood chips simulate having been left out in the sun?
