As a question for you then: When do you think the Shroomery will end and how? If not within 50 years, then when?

That's more then one question.  :smirk:

I think it will end when people using drugs end.
The how question has as many answers as the question for how the shroomery will come back if removed for any reason. So I can not answer that, because I would have to write a bookload of possible how and why's.  :grin:

When: looks into crystal ball when the aliens come in 20-12-2012 and we all become lucid creatures of the whole.  :smirk:

I'm not saying the last thing might not happen, I believe in the 2012 theory.

I think GDMan will ban all the admins also, but our heroes Shroomism and Swami will come to the rescue of the Shroomery. With Shroomism's intense display of giddiness and Swami's sardonic humor and indisputable logic they'll cut GDMan down in size, laying his empire to ruins and making themselves the new dictators of the Shroomery.

And then it'll all repeat anew as even Shroomism and Swami become corrupted with power...

Shroomism has always reminded me of Vader...

Currently GDMan is positioning his powers to make himself the lone Sith lord though. The admins may be blind, but the OTDers can see us drawing closer to that violent revolution every day. The Pub will gather behind GDMan singing peace songs and smoking bongloads of cannabis, not realizing through their foolishness that they bringing to power one of the greatest evils the Shroomery will ever see.

Were I in power, everyone would see the expansion of the Shroomery unlike ever before. Through the use of hackers and protesters I'd take over the internet, site by site... First the Lycaeum and Bluelight, then Erowid, then even Wikipedia and Google themselves...

The government would of course see the massive utilization of the people and intraweb by the empire known only as the Shroomery, and organize themselves in an epic battle that will only be known as the Last Stand of the DEA. After that the Shroomery corporation will expand without fear of retribution, legalizing all drugs, instating libertarians into the highest offices of the world and guiding us to the Fourth Empire.

Too bad I'm not an admin though. We'll just have to be content with handing out pamphlets at small raves and buying $5 supporter accounts I guess.

In 50 years message boards and the internet as they are today will be viewed like we see the abacus today. Poor parents couldn't even play video games on their graphing calculators.

edit: therefore the shroomery will not exist anywhere in it's present form. in fact, there might be no need for it in 50 years. we can only hope our species will get to that point where misinformation and lies are no longer perpetuated and people no longer need to turn to web sites for accurate information.
