you're best bet is to call a machinist or metal fabricator, they usualy have to have acces to seals and such for parts they make, if not they can refer you to someone that may

Is it a permanent setup or do you have to be able to take apart the mating surface? Just go to a good parts store (see something other than autozone) that sells the roll of blue gasket material and pick up some RTV gasket sealant, it can hold the pressure and the heat

rigging anything on a PC is quite dangerous, RTV may work but I speak from experience when IO say you dont want it exploding in your face.

I agree. If there's one thing you don't want to rig, ever, it's a pressure cooker. Pressure cookers and the equipment that goes into them are built to very specific tolerances. Rigging PC = bad.

Oh please, I use the same gasket material to hold 80+ pounds of oil pressure, vs 15 pounds in a pressure cooker

A pressure cooker can be very dangerous.
I'm sure that you can find the right gasket with a little searching.

I called Montgomery Ward catalog sales. 1-800-227-7598
all of the Montgomery Ward stores are closed.
the catalog sales is all that is left of the company...and they don't sell pressure cookers anymore. and they have no information on parts to the old pressure cookers that the store had sold.
I'll keep snooping around.
Can you please give me the model number or any info you can that might be on your pressure cooker...that will help me to help you with the search.
Look for a size or model number.

also if you could post a picture of your pressure cooker.
odds are that this pressure cooker was made for Wards by Presto or some other company...so you might be able to get parts that way.

Sounds like your oil preassure is running a little high.

a valve cover doesnt hold 80lbs of pressure, nor does a cooling system, the mating for these items are direct bolt on, most pressure cookers that require a gasket is generaly a twist on, RTV will not take it.

I'm glad someone cleared that up. It could have been dangerous. Anyway if the gasket blows on your car it tend not to do so in your face! Don't use gasket sealent!!! Find the correct one. good luck!

I sealed a small crack in a radiator with permatex once, it took a total of 4 tubes up and down and around the sides before it stopped the leak...
I'm 100% positive that RTV will simply get someone hurt

No, 80 pounds of pressure is not high for 20W50 oil at 9000+ rpm, and I use paper gaskets with silicone sealant at my oil pressure controlling block which is filled with hot oil pressing in all directions at high pressures (with my old gauge it maxed out at 90psi and I got my feet covered in oil, the gauge's internals blew before any gasket)

hopefully you wouldn't run it at 9000 rpm for an hour and fifteen minutes! It would just be a bad idea for a pressure cooker.

Very true.
As I said in my first post it would be a good idea if the parts weren't going to be repeatedly re/dissassembled. I'm not sure what mating surface he is referring to, there could be several depending on design.
And we used to run semi-pro 24 hour endurance races so you are between 6000 and 9000 rpm for 24 hours with breaks for fuel, brake pads&bleeding and tires

oil pressure controlling block?
in wet sump systems pressure is controlled by a ball and spring, unless you're running NASCAR or F1 or some other overly sponsored race car you wont be using a dry sump system (having an external oil pump).
the silicon on mating surfaces for things like that are simply for adhesion, to keep the gasket from sliding while you're installing the part, not to control oil flow, the gasket swells and does that as well as maintains the pressure from the pump to the oil gallery, as of yet, I havent seen a pump that runs higer then 60psi, heads will hold anywhere from 90-160psi and the majority of those are either steel shimmed or composit with a steel/copper to maintain the seals paper simply will not hold up to the pressure

the surfaces where the gasket comes between the lid and the bowl of the pressure cooker
