Crushed Oyster Shells

I cannot find crushed oyster shells.
Is there any reason I can't get the shells from a local Seafood restaurant and crush them up my self. with sterilization of course.

Sure makes sense to me. It reminds me off trying to locate brown rice flour. I mean, does ANYBODY really sell this stuff? Only way that I know of is to grind up brown rice.

pet stores also carry crushed coral for fish tanks.. i use that in the stead of oyster shell.. pretty much the same stuff plus some other trace elements.. give it a try.

man i can get tons of this stuff, i just go in the inlet pick up a ton of shells rinse them clean and crush them with a big rock and hammer works fine for me, i should crush alot and sell it...hmmm

Yes we (Myco Supply) does sell crushed oyster shell and brown rice flour. The BRF is out of stock (our supplier went out of business).

Why not go to your local seafood store and buy yourself a dozen oysters? Cook em up and have yourself a little feast, then use the shells as you see fit.
