Found a few nice and big Amanitas today while fly fishing for trout at the Chattahoochee river. They are such a beautiful site! A few pics for your viewing pleasure......
And a picture of the river, the amanitas are found along the banks of this river under pinus tadea(sp?) pine trees in english :)

Nice pics lizard, those muscaria are pretty tough guys, not many mushrooms like to fruit in a river bed. Upon looking at the big rocks in that last picture i began to drewl, do you have big boulders around made out of the same stuff?

Have you ever tried Amanita muscaria? A friend of mine ate a 4 inch cap that we heated near the fire at a camp out last weekend, he said he never felt anything, I suppose he needed to eat more. I'm not sure that I'd ever try it unless I had var. muscaria, but everything around these parts seems to be var. formosa. That place you took the picture of the river looks like this rock I always sit on near Settles bridge when I'm watching people jump off the bridge :P Peace out, -Gumby
