That's a good point fred has. You might consider going to do something with friends while under the influence of something...perhaps DXM or alcohol or a benzo (as these all will probably make you more sociable). It can sometimes help to see that you have the capability of being more sociable, and in the future harness this knowledge to become more sociable even while sober.

When I was a kid, we went to a vacation with some family members. While there I had a distantly related babysitter who made me come into the bathroom with her and stick my fingers in her. This in itself wasn't traumatic, but I remember being aware that all hell would break loose if my dad found out. I also remember last time all hell broke loose with my dad he started throwing shit at my mom hard enough to break the wall. So, when he came back, I was really really anxious that he didn't find out. Being from a roman catholic background at the time, of course I knew that the sort of thing that girl made me do was forbidden in a sort of hush hush way. I know thats when it started.

tomk i'm sorry you went through this experience. it's obviously been very hard on you.

I don't harbor any ill feelings towards the girl who did it. I know she was abused herself, first of all, and second of all, came from a family that created my dad and his anger problem. She was 13 or 14 at the time, and was merely repeating the behavior her enviroment showed her.

you sound dissociated from yourself.

But I don't really like other people.
______________________________________________________________________

Hi tomk. Now why would you like other people if being around them made you anxious? Can you see how this would work. I also grew up with severe social anxiety. Psychedelics were my saving grace. Along with a lot of inner struggle and work. I finally found my answer and I am continuing to improve all aspects of my life.

OK No one ever seems to take this seriously when I post it. Still I offer to you what was a major turning point in my life in hopes it may work for you also.

XTC has a short but impressive track record in stress disorders ect.

This is how I would use it: Find two hits of very pure XTC. You need a completely dark room, perfect temp, undisturbed, and a full length body pillow. Also, (tremendously helpful, not kidding) a very short book called The Handbook to Higher Consciousness, by Ken Keyes. It can be read in one hour or less.

Go to your sanctuary. No music, perfect quiet, nighttime is best I think, Get comfortable, naked is good. Take one hit. Lay down get into a fetal position around your pillow. Take the time to think about yourself. Think about everything you don't like and maybe like about yourself. Try to just let your thoughts flow without too much direction. At one hour take the second hit. Now just let whatever happens happen.

After the experience take a walk in the quiet woods if possible. If not just relax any way you like. Now just read this book, on how to see where unconditional love is found. The ideas are simple and profound. After the XTC your previous programming will be somewhat non-operative. This book can be the beginning of a whole new type of programming and living. It can be absorbed easily at this time compared to when your old ego structure is dominant. If you're suspicious, get the book and read it before you do the XTC.

Try to have the whole next day or two to yourself. This time of contemplation can be most enlightening.

Good luck tomk whatever you choose. I have been following your posts for quite awhile. And honestly, at this time your my favorite poster. Next to me of course. :mushroom2:

I would like to share a quote I have remembered to great advantage. It comes from the Castanada books. Even if you think they are bullshit, you may find some truth here.

He is talking about the difference between a warrior and the average human. Showing Carlos the advantages of living the life of a warrior.

"An average man is too concerned with liking people or with being liked himself. A warrior likes, that's all. He likes whatever or whomever he wants, for the hell of it, yet is not concerned about it."

Life to me is a warriors challenge. There is no getting off easy. Every act is a battle. One fights or gives in.

"There is no emptiness in the life of a warrior. Everything is filled to the brim. Everything is filled to the brim, and everything is equal."

Anxiety is normal. Your problem is you have fears. Drugs wont solve you problems they will just temporarily deactivate your "anxiety". Your goal is to eliminate your fears. How do you do that? You need to reprogram your brain.

Read this, Its a very good explanation-
http://vitalcoaching.com/mindpower/how_to_reprogram_your_mind.htm

Just stay positive, change your negative thinking into positive thinking everyday. It just doesn't work with a snap of your fingers. It takes time, practice, dedication. Your mind is a muscle. Just always think positive. You will change, you will love yourself.
