so im lookin to get a lil help from the govt. i work odd jobs, i am classified bipolar, however i dont realy buy it. i have my issues but, i can maintain for the most part at that. im not all for leaching off the govt, but its not like i would put the help to waste. i would surely benefit from it and it wont be helping me feed my crack habit as i dont have one. lol. i am all about being self sufficient, but i feel this can help me get on my feet. there was a time when this was almost necesary for me as i was in a realy bad spot depression wise. however i was in such a bad spot i never got around to going down and applyng except to get a food stamp card. that didnt last long though. i am lookin to going down and applying again. however im not sure what exactly i need to do. i live in new york and i have a bucnhf of friends tahta re on ssi, ssd, or social services. anyway i was just curios if anyone can help me out on info so when i go there i know what to ask for etc. i have bipolar disorder, or so they say. as well as substance induced psychosis .....lol dont ask...ill get into it all one of these days i guess. im sure some of u can relate. anyway, ive heard people tell me its posible to screw yourself by not knowing what to ask for and whatnot. so like, does anyone have experience with this. a friend of mine applied, the process toook so long she got a lawyer for cheep and got all her back pay from when she signed up wich was like 10,000 bux, and she got a house with it. but ive never got a realy straight answer as ive never asked too much about. so any of u cats get social services, ssi, or ssd? and wich one would be more likely for me to get as far as my situation goes being bipolar and all. any info greatly appreciated!

Hmm...even if you don't "buy it," you can still milk it, you know? My neighbor's friend is on SSI, he gets 400 dollars a week. I don't about you, but I could live on 400 a week easy! I don't how to actually go about getting it, but I think what you're looking at in particular is SSI, which is often given to people who plead to the gov't that they aren't mentally suitable for a regular working job.

Something tells me DeadPhan's not a career-type-dude with those huge dreads o' his. Heh.
I could never be a "career" person. I really dislike the idea of setting down a path like that. I want to bounce from experience to experience on my way to my goal, not follow a pre-determined route.

I can be classified bi polar in some ways. My drug use has been on going untill the past year since i was 14. Troubles in the house hold led me to drugs. Parents didnt love each other and only stayed to gether as long as they did for us. Wich was Bull shit. Kinda tought me to not show my feelings. SO i would go out get fucked come home and vegitate. Just like every one else in their own ways did. I still had the emotions but they were so far under all the other chemicals and all the lies they wouldnt hardly ever show. And some times they would just decide to burst out mostly in anger. Broke a lot of shit broke my self and go off into depressions. I could go on pills n what not if i wantd but i instead choose semi sobriety no more daily use of any thing. I go to a shrink that specialises in shimone therapy and proccessing memories threw guided meditation and energy work. Yoga in its own way yoga of the mind.
All i got to say is coming to terms and understanding the way your mind is working and daily active scaning your body looking for negativity and changing those negatives to posetives is what keeps me on my game.
If people are looking for some instruction i can maybe shair this knowledge.

I don't think he's worried about dealing with his bipolar disorder. He just wants to use it to his advantage.

He doesn't even feel like he has a "disorder," he's trying to use someone else's analysis of him to his advantage.

Some people use these benefits so they don't have to work.
You take the cake however, as you're too lazy to even attempt to find out how to become a parasite of tax payers dollars.

There are also those of us who pay taxes and don't give a damn about such things, because if someone is smooth enough to get this money back from cocksucker sam then more power to them. I only wish I had a decent reason to get a kick back from the gov. I'm much more woried about tax money being spent to drop million dollar bombs on inocent people than someone trying to find a way to avoid jumping into the human conga line that marches to the step of birth - school - work - death - repeat. Settleing for such a mind numbing mundane existance is a rediculousely sheepish thing to do. Each thier own.
Best of luck to you, phan.

Exactly. There's many other things tax money is being spent on to get your panties in a wad about.
