One more drying question...

My wookie has an old-ish Ronco electric food dehydrator without any temp control. Can he use that to dry out his little babies safely?

Open the sucker up and remove the heating element. Heat is the most dangerous thing you can have around in uncontrolled quantity when you're drying, it'll make your shrooms blue and inactive if given enough exposure.

Most of those things have fans inside, which is perfect to help you dry out, just open it up and remove the cables to the heating element. Of course, be careful and make sure there are no leads laying around to shock you with

my dog uses the old brown one it works perfect it only gets up to about 110 deg. f makes them crisp like a cracker in about24 hrs. no blueing no noticable potency loss he has made no modifications except some screen to hold the smaller ones he knows all about heat and potecy loss but as long as the heat doesnt get over 125 deg. f everything should be just fine
