Harvesting and drying questions...
    #417909 -

Thanks to everyone's advice, my wookie dropped his invitro pinning (80-90% colonized) cakes into a terrarium, and he now has fruits that look like they're only a day or 2 away from the veils breaking.

Here's a question... when it comes time for him to harvest, several of the fruits are growing from "pods" with other fruits that aren't mature yet... should he use an exacto knife to extract them without injuring the neighbors, or is the old "twist and pull" acceptable?

The other question... how long can they be kept fresh and where should he store them? He has some friends coming out to celebrate the harvest and doesn't want to have to mix dry/wet dosages if at all possible.

Thanks!

You can store fresh mushrooms in a paper bag in the fridge for up to one week.

Swing the groove 'round here, so I can reach it -a.d.

I'd just pull the whole thing. When you harvest...harvest the whole tray. I have found that if you try and take a couple mature fruits that are attached to immature ones, it will just cause problems. And if you cut it off that leaves room for contaminants to enter. Hello Mr Green Mold!
