Drying question

Has anyone tried a food dehydrator for drying? I was thinking about getting one that I would be able to turn the heating element down.

I have been using a dessicant chamber with calcium chloride. It does not seem to work very fast and I keep filling it up to quickly.

as long as it has a cool dry setting it'll work fine. but it's just as easy (and less expensive) to go to your local hardware store and pick up some calcium chloride/Dri-Z-Air/epsom salt/etc and make a dessicant chamber... or easier yet to just sit them shrooms in front of a fan

fan dry for 24 hours followed by 24 hours in a dessicant chambers...

...in smaller amounts (3g or so) I can cut those times in half and have cracker dry mushrooms potent to the max for years to come.

Food dehydrators will work! Heat = bad!

dehydrators suck...fans and newspaper are enough...only use food dehydrator when time is a problem....
