Has anyone had a chance to hunt in Oregon or Washington lately? Please let me know how things are looking. I have a friend who called from Tillamook, OR today. He said things were still pretty dry . He did notice that the fields had a nice mycelial network established. He will be heading up the coast to Astoria, OR and will call me tomorrow, I will post his observations.
Thanks,
Joshua

I'm from the Portland area. A couple weeks ago I found a couple Azurescens near Pacific City, but I think it was a freak patch or something. Besides that, I've looked up and down the coast from Newport to Astoria not finding anything else. Hopefully the next week or two will bring in some good rain and get those puppies on the move. As far as the fields look... Your friend looking for lib caps or something in em, because if he's from Tillamook I think he should focus his attention more on PS Azurescen.

I am thinking of heading over to the coast this weekend perhaps. Prolly sat-sun-mon if all goes as planned. The hunt for the azurescens is sure to be challenging. Any tips for me? I have never hunted them before.

New news from Astoria.
A freind of mine just called and said that the Azures are visiting Astoria. He was able to find three patches. He said they were good sized both closed and opened caps. He was just there about a week and a half ago but was unable to find any.
Looks like if you want to find Azures it is time to head over to Astoria.
More news to follow.

I swear those look exactly like the patch I found and the patch is HUGE could easily fill up 3-4 safeway bags (Plastic) in a hour. Esp the car bundle pic and that wavy 1. Could you get a close-up of the stems after picking?? Also are the caps (What's that big word again?) see thru like cyans??
Thanx Josh

I ate 20 of those Azures last night. It was one of the shroomiest I've had in a while. I'm still trying to see straight.

Oh yeah I almost forgot I ate a few stems last year and got that feeling like I'm about to fry (stomach) and then it went away and nothing happend I think frying for the three days before that probably had something to do with it.

Here are some pic's from my latest trip to Beavercreek and Astoria. My camera was a cheap disposable w/o a flash so the pic's you see are poor quality.

I can understand the good intention, but thumping doesn't do a damn thing. Taking spore prints and then returning to the patch to spread a few would be more efficent, even then its doubtful anything you spread will take anyways.

There are some places in Warrenton. Try Ft. Stevens state park. There are roads there labled "A", "B", "C", etc. Try some of those roads. Look for grassy dunes. These roads aren't the best but they will train you to find the correct habitat for finding some better areas, good luck. The Beavercreek I refer to is in Oregon located east of Oregon City.
