NEWBIE ABHORT/HARVESTING QUESTION

this is my first go at growing. i have two pf cakes cased in straight verm in a perlite aquarium.
i picked my first mushroom this morning. and from what i understand you are supposed to pick them when the veil breaks.
well yesterday the cap was still bulbous (how it starts out) and broke away from the stem and opened up.
is this what is meant by the veil breaking??
and this morning the edges where slightly curled up. i know that when the edges are curling up it is sign to harvest, harvest, harvest. but....
this shroom was only growing about two days and is only about two inches tall (if that much).
is this an abhort??
or did i misinterpret the definition of when the veil breaks?

no way! if the veil broke and the cap extended its not an abhort. abhorts are pins that never develop full caps
