transcendence in the year 2012...
    #4134594 - 05/04/05 10:16 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

http://www.2012.com.au/Site.A.html

take a look, pretty interesting stuff. can't say i believe it 100%, but a lot of the things said coincide perfectly with a lot of what I've been thinking/feeling. could be coincidence, but maybe not. says we should know in a few months anyhow.

just for fun... keep the sarcastic posts to a minimum, if you don't mind.

Entertaining web site, but probably not objective given that they sell books, tapes, and other stuff ranging up to $200 a pop.

Let me ask you something, seriously.

Other than some people telling you so, do you have a-n-y reason to believe 2012 will be any different than any other year?

To preempt you, McKenna's Time Wave thing has been thoroughly discredited by a mathematician named Matthew Watkins. Further, McKenna himself admitted that his Time Wave thing was bunk after Watkins finished with it.

Here's it is in McKenna's own words:

"Recently, while in Mexico at the classic Maya site of Palenque, I made the aquaintance of a young British mathematician and psychokinesiologist named Matthew Watkins. Watkins offered the strongest and most interesting critique of the timewave and the assumptions of its construction yet made. Watkins is confident that he has condensed the theory of the timewave into a formula (given below) and is further convinced that there is no rational basis for assuming that the timewave represents the fluctuation of any quantity which can be meaningfully understood as 'novelty'." -- Terence McKenna

And my most recent observations at:

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/3462503/an//page//vc/1

So again, Other than some people telling you so, do you have a-n-y reason to believe 2012 will be any different than any other year?

Beyond McKenna and all his garble.. you're primary focus should be where our solar system will be at that point, and the base of the 2012 theory... that of astronomy.

Those who based their calendar on it, and who suggested "the end of an age" didn't necessarily imply anything other then that, it was done by others... it was the end of their calendar and nothing more... Quetzalocatl was thought to be Venus by Velikovsky as it coincides with many other cultures, and the orbit of Venus, as well as the associated imagery, however you'd have to put some faith into the plasma discharge comet model who's greatest current proponent is James McCanney (to my knowledge that is).... and further would have to believe that it wasn't just another story, and would have to alter your view as to what Comet's really are in relation to their coma discharge in respects to the sun and... blah, don't wish to rant too much.

Site where info pertaining to the plasma-discharge comet model can be found, it's a theory worth entertaining:
http://www.tmgnow.com/repository/repository.html

Velikovsky:
http://www.tmgnow.com/repository/secret/velikovsky.html
http://www.tmgnow.com/repository/secret/velikovsky2.html

Perhaps a celestial event is tied to it, such that it's been documented and projected that the time period will coincide with the ceasation of their calendar, and an event will make it obsolete. It needn't imply anything else, however; I do give it some merit on the basis of their knowledge of celestial mechanics.

They say the plagues of the 90s, such as AIDS, will be gone, so what will become of overpopulation? 2012 sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, unless we get transported to another planet in an alien spacecraft that we can take over and ruin.

Why wait for transcendence in 2012? Transcendence is now.

what are we going to transcend?

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.---senior doobie

Best not to take things literally. 2012 is just a number. What's more important is the concepts behind it.

I have no proof to back anything I say up.  I don't even know where I decided I believed this.  I've even tried NOT to believe it, because it isn't exactly rational to believe in such a thing.  But I'm drunk, so any inhibitions about posting this are pretty much gone.  I believe that we are currently experiencing labor into a higher consciousness right now.  And things will get worse before they get better...it will be painful.  Humanity will experience hell first, but I believe that we are slowly moving into a new age.

I have no idea if 2012 means anything...I dont' care.  The time is NOW!

but please don't take what i say seriously...

I, for one, think 2012 might be around the time China and India take over the global economy.

By the way, have a look at this. In a local newspaper here in Belgium I read that China will use more than the current global production of oil per day if they start using our economic model.

An interesting thing to take not of is that Earth's magnetic field (polarity) hasn't switched for more than 780,000 years, whereas during Earth's history, the inversion of the polarity occured about every 250,000 years.

According to scientists, the intensity of the planet's magnetic field has been weakening, in a an accelerated manner, since 2000 years ago. Furthermore, studies show that Earth IS undergoing a switch in magnetic polarity, and who knows to what degree the human mind/consciousness is in relation to it's planet's energy field?

check out the complexity...:

Anyone wanna buy a slightly used airplane and boat?

This is just coming out of my drunk head...but based on my experiences we are gradually rising to a new level of consciousness. The final transcendance is yet to come.

Here is a link to a webpage describing more of the spiritual aspect of the transition, it was actually a very interesting and beneficial read, you should check it out:

The Transition

There is some very deep wisdom in this person's words, and to me its a bit reassuring to see the 2012 problem being discussed by someone as intelligent as this dude. Someone who would be out to trick you into believing a theory would most probably not have such wise words to communicate to you.
