Mushrooms in soup for consumption. What do you guys think? (Update!)

I searched the forum for this question and only found one person's opinion using this in the Experiencing Mushrooms area. I was curious if anyone has ever tried this before? I've done hot tea before and never diminished the potency, so I assume soup will not either.

Basically what I want to do is grind some mushrooms into powder and mix into Cup-O-Noodles or Progresso soup. The thing I like about the idea is that the soup is light and will not slow gastric emptying. Delivery should be fairly quick and I get a meal in at that same time.

I'm a little paranoid about potency lost though. How does that sound you guys?

well...many many years ago

we cooked up some spagetti with some liberty caps in it.

and it kicked our ass!~

we also used to make a huge pot of shroom Tea...

and it kicked our ass too!~

I don't believe in the potency break down theory.

I agree with Roadkill about the heat issue. Soup rocks, cup-o-noodles is my favorite budget meal of all time. Toss a few grams in your next cup and hold on, hehe.

soup sounds like a great idea. i've made tea, too, with no noticable loss of potency. just avoid boiling it!

What a mistake that was. I put some ground up mushrooms, 7 grams to be exact, and the soup tasted nasty. It changed the color to a nasty looking gray and had an awful aftertaste. I had to eat the entire bowl with my nose plugged.

Needless to say it was an excruciating 20 minutes.

Next time I'll stick with tea. Speaking of tea, I heard a vicious rumor that sugar in the tea affects the potency. Has anyone every heard of this before?

Also the 7 grams didn't give me the trip I wanted. I think I need to double dose with about 1 hour between each dose. I'll try again tonight with a 6 and 6 gram dose.

you ate 7 dry grams and you didn't trip well?

its too soon to trip again...need to wait a week.

or you will have to really up the dose.

I wouldn't take 11 dry grams or more...it can get pretty scary.

I hear you Roadkill. Why should I wait a week though? I usually take between 10-12 grams per trip. I like to trip for at least 4 hours and really enjoy a long peak. I guess I'm a connoisseur when it comes to mushrooms.

i've heard that 1 week is a pretty good amount of time to insure there is no tolerance, i think thats why he says wait 1 week.
