PETA are total turdbrokers. Remember they caught that huge 20+ pound lobster a couple months ago? Some people wanted to buy it so they could eat it. and dumb-ass PETA bid on it to set it free. Dumbasses, the thing died on it's own and they never said what happened to the tail. mmmmmmm I want a 20 pound lobster tail!

My first post explained this. It puts one more in touch and tune with nature. Like the animal you are, you fall into nature's rhythms when in the forest for extended periods. Both being in the forest and participating in the food cycle on that level inspire primal feelings that many would describe as spiritual. Knowing that one is following in the footsteps of our ancient ancestors inspires others on a spiritual level. I see spiritual experience in many day to day activities. I used to sky dive many years back and I can only describe that feeling as profoundly spiritual in nature. When I say "spiritual experience" I am not referring to occult happenings, but internal feelings that are best described as spiritual. For instance looking out over the Grand Canyon could inspire many on a spiritual level. If you have never experienced such inspiration I cannot describe it. It is that very quality in entheogens that bring many to this web site. Make a wooden bow with only an axe (or better yet stone tools), then make arrows and tips from naturally occuring materials such as cane and obsidian. I defy you to deny the spiritual power in this act alone.

Here's some choice groups the real PETA has:

'Lettuce Ladies' are women (some of them Playboy models) who appear publicly in scanty costumes made to look like lettuce leaves, and distribute information about the vegan diet.

PETA also has a less well known male counterpart to the Lettuce Ladies, called the Broccoli Boys.

PETA has created advertisements claiming that Jesus was a vegetarian, and other Christian-themed ads such as one showing a photograph of a pig with the caption, "He Died for Your Sins". PETA maintains a JesusVeg.com website (http://www.jesusveg.com), which discusses these claims in depth.




I swear they're a bunch of whacked out loons. They call themselves People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Is there some universal set of ethics of which I'm not aware? My ethics say it's perfectly fine for me to kill an animal, butcher it and fry its ass up for my pleasure. So by that definition I'm a member of PETA since I'm treating animals ethically according my my ethical standard.

But no let's cry for the animals and say fuck you to the plants and fungi. They lack a CNS and can't feel pain so it's fine to kill them. If someone doesn't want to eat meat that's fine but don't try to add ethical significance to your fool's pleasure.

I am a vegetarian and proponent of animal rights, but I have little problem with hunting/fishing. I have a problem with the meat industry not hunters - I choose not to participate in their torture and slaughter.

In fact, the only meat I would consume would be ecologically-sound hunted meat. As far as I know, this viewpoint is not uncommon or frowned upon by those among PETA.

As an official policy hunting is frowned upon completely by PETA and fishing is close behind.

On their web site their mission statement clearly defines their goal which precludes any type of hunting, fishing, or trapping. I have, though, met one other person holding the same beliefs as you. If I had not been raised with meat being such a strong part of my diet I would share your philosophy, but as is I do use processed meats. I regard my reliance on it to be a regrettable necessity, so, I will refrain from criticizing your abstinence on processed meat and applaud you for it. I believe life is sacred and it should only be taken after proper consideration. Our intelligence has made us masters of this world, but we must strive to be benevolent masters.
