Slightly different view on abortion
    #1101257 -

Just came to me yesterday....

Every pro-lifer has killed some kind of insect. I'll use that as an example..
A mosquito has a will to live. It hunts and works to sruvie, and it procreates.

A cluster of human cells does not have a will to live. Once the brain has developed it may. But untill then it has no more will than a tree...

So we kill things that want to live. But we absolutly must protect the unborn with no will or consciousness...

HUMANS ARE THE SUPERIOR RACE! All other beings must be eaten or enslaved by humans!

Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

i think Bill Hicks had some intersting ideas about abortion. for example he said that since its against the law to kill the baby, instead the women leaving it in some garbage can in an alley, should leave their unwanted new borns on the steps of the supreme court. "you made us have them, then you fucken raise 'em! "

its not the fact that dividing cells don't have a 'will' but it is the fact that abortion 'prevents' life. and i don't care what you have to argue on this, if you allowed the cells to develope into a human, and then at the age of being intelligible, i can guarantee you it would say that 'i would rather be alive'

killing mosquitoes can't be even remotely be comparable to killing cells to be human. come on now, thats like an elementary way of thinking...

besides. the intent is totally different.

when smacking a mosquitoe on your skin, it is because you felt a sharp pain, and as a reaction, you whap it... thats the fastest way we react to get rid of that excruciating sting...

having an abortion is premeditated, and completely different...

perhaps if you compared a 'game' hunter being a pro-life activist, then that would be arguable...then angain, thats probably unlikely

I dont think i have the right to create life because giving life is giving responsiblitiy.
Its also essentially giving death. Since once u are alive you are going to die. For the record i would rather have never been born. Though thats not to say i want to die either. Now that im a person i have an irrational fear of death. And it causes alot of conflict.

At what stage can a larvae be aborted?

bleak,

tho you may not want to accept responsibility, there are so many that will and are trying. it can take up to a couple years for people trying to adopt. if it were the case that you had to chose. don't you think that aborting is playing god with nature. who is to say that child won't grow up to become a major role in mankind. say finding the cure for aids or whatnot...

the point is, if people have sex and get pregnant, its now beyond them in the decision, or should be. my mother chose to have me, despite pressure of aborting me. im glad, and im sure any person would be, despite having to die some day...
and if she absolutely couldn't or didn't want to take care of me, i would settle for being adopted. at least i would have had a chance.

life and death, comes in one package =o)

what if a 13 year old girl is raped and gets pregnant by a 40 yr old pedophile?

I agree with your views, Ribbit, but i think bringing the law into it is kinda nasty. As much as i hate the thought of human life being 'prevented', forcing major contreversial decisions on women like that sickens me..

We have the technology to safely abort now... we can't reverse that.

By your argument then, it is should be a crime not to fuck any chick who's not pregnant. Why? Because if we don't, there goes a potential human life that could have existed (with a will to live) if we did.

um ribbit, smashing that mosquito is not just a reaction. its a reaction thats completely ends the mosquitos natural urge to live, and what about it's mosquito family, eh? who's gonna get blood for the family now, eh? you just put a bunch of mosiquito's on welfare by smashing that mosquito on yer arm

it relly is just being inconsiderate. i havent killed any insects i've been able to avoid, which is a lot, and i think if we all did the same, insects would be grateful :-)
sure the world would eventually be over-run by insects and whatnot, but people deserve to die anyways. we're all greedy bastards who think of only ourselves. we all deserve death.

Abortion is such an interesting topic. I used to be all for abortion but as of now I have mixed feelings about it. But I am still Pro Choice.
