 no, that's the only ism allowed... you see God give them the right to fuck with our lives and morality, as god knows best about peoples preferences and what's ultimately the best way to do something. Why god is letting all these wars occur, you might not see a purpose to it, but god does, you just need to have faith... and it's not too late for even you to recieve slavation from the lord!!!

 :flowerchild: :inlove: :hippie: :flowers:

(couldn't help myself)

Edit:
was going to correct my mistake and change "slavation" to "salvation", but I kinda of like the typo.

Damn, well with the Bible predicting everything, almost makes life not worth living, damn self-fullfilling prophecies.

I love how this new pope is cracking down on tolerance. I'm sure that's what Jesus would've wanted.

Of course, despite what the Bible says, Jesus was a harcore neo-con, the OG of neo-con-sim (that ism will stay for sure). All that talk about tolerance, and acceptance only applied to those in the Catholic Church, it'll apply to the other sects once they jump on the bandwagon.

It's social conservatism, which is not unique to neoconservatism. If he expressed views advocating the unilateral policing of the world, then I'd call him a neocon.

Supporting a neocon as the lesser of two evils does not make you a neocon. Besides, there were some pro-life third party candidates as well who were not neocons, such as Constitution Party candidate Michael Peroutka.

Odd how the Bible interprets sooth-sayers... should we really be trusting a man of god for predictions? Is he somehow above a soothsayer as his prediction has been self fullfilling... I mean fullfilled? IMO these passages additionally rule out the Da Vinci code, Nostradamus, and Saint Malachy. Unless of course you justify your stance in regards to it as the passages do; in which case it is acceptable if it actually occurs and promotes god... which further makes it easier for justification of anything through manipulation of events and suggestions of god's handiwork.

Clearly so. But one has to differentiate between a message and people who misinterpret the message. For example, if we assume entheogens are good and important, aren't there many instances of misuse? Similarly, peace and justice in the Mideast are obviously good. But there are people who use that cause to do terrible things. And democracy is clearly better than fascism. But people do bad things in the name of democracy. This does not make us reject entheogens, peace and justice or democracy. Would not the same principle apply to Christianity?

You can bet that for any good idea there are people who will work very hard to discredit it by doing terrible things in its name. And the better the idea, the harder they'll try.

For the record, I didn't mean to imply that Ratzinger is one of those who try to discredit Christianity. I've never met im so I don't know. He's had bad press, but so do a lot of people. When Reagan became president, people had really bad things to say about him. Now the view is more positive. So who can say? I figure we should pray that the guy is inspired to be a good Pope. Complaining isn't going to do any good.

there was a lot of pressure on the catholic church for opening to new ideas and revoke long standing values: the use of condoms, woman priesthood, etc...
well, this is a very clear "nein" to the rising liberal sects within the catholic church. it's also a departure from the opening to society as a whole with all its creeds that the previous pope instituted.

the catholic church is closing within itself, but the world will keep changing, frontiers will keep falling, and hopefully so will fundamentalism.

we need freedom more than ever!
