If you could see me, I'd be raising one hand and using the other hand to point at myself frantically. They are amazing. I thought De-Loused was better than Frances, but now i'm not so sure.

i saw them open for a pefrect circle, and they blew apc out of the water. the headliner just did'nt have anything on the opening act that night. That got me into them.
I do think Frances the mute is an impresive improvement on de-loused, though.

"Cygnus...Vismond Cygnus" from Frances the Mute and "Cicatriz esp" from De-loused in the Comatorium are my favorites right now, but they cahnge constantly cuz Mars Volta kicks ass

the entire frances the mute album.
of course if you just need to start with a song or two, Cicatriz ESP from De-Loused in the Comatorium is a must listen, and Inertiatic ESP is not bad either, lol. omg, when i saw them live they did Cicatriz for about 35 minutes it was so damn incredible I about craped my pants. Not really but i've never experienced a superior musical performance. No shit. It was Goooooooooooood!

Wow just heard some of theire songs. I must say they're great. And I'm picky when it comes to music.

I saw them open for RHCP and QotSA about 2 years ago, and they SUCKED. I've been trying to avoid them ever since, but maybe they've improved their game.

Being a Mars Volta fan, it pains me to agree with pinball, they suck live. They definitely shine in the studio. If you haven't seen them live, you can download some live bootlegs and you'll see what I mean.
They make great music, but its defitinely a studio band.

When they play live they have so much going on and they turn everything up sooooo loud that you can barely make out notes. I love the volta, but when they're live...

hey i don't think some of the live recordings do them justice, i would recommend checking out the live ep thats from the soundboard and the homebrew dvd of live at the wetlands, this is an excellent show, sound is comming fromt the soundboard so its not some shitty recording and the video is excellent.

I think I like Deloused better than Frances at the moment. Frances gets a little irritating to listen to some times. I love the music but the vocals just get to me sometimes.

They jam like crazy live, Their drummer puts on a show you need to experience in person, you don't realize how amazingly good he is until you see him play live. Cedric Bixler is a great performer as well, and the energy level they create is something that does not come across on a cd. I'd rather see 'em live than listen to one of thier albums any day.
