Green mold on cakes...don't throw them, case them!
    #405633 -

I recently lost two cakes to green mold. I was going to throw them out, but since I can always use more experiecne with casing, I thought I would give it a shot.
I cut away the sections of the cake that were effected by the green mold and then placed the cakes (two) in a peroxide (H2O2) bath for a minute or so. I then placed moist verm on the bottom of my tray, crumbled the two cakes and cased using more moist verm. These are the early results..

There are lots of pins and considering I was about to throw them out all of these are a bonus! So, the next time you lose a cake to contams, think twice before you toss it...you may be throwing out some great shrooms....
