A few questions regarding Peyote and E. Novo...

First off I was wondering if anyone has had any sucess growing E. Novogranatense from seed...from what I hear its relatively easy. I`ve read just about all I could find on the subject but if anyone has any links or general advice to offer, it would be greatly appreciated.

Second I was wondering if anyone from the US has ever tried to order Peyote from a UK sources that will readily ship it over here. What do you think the chances of making it through customs are?

I`m sorry if either of these have been asked before. I used the search engine and found little on what I was looking for.

I know of one source for peyote plants and seeds that will happily ship anywhere in the world. However, I'm reluctant to say who it is because I'm not sure about the rules regarding sources in general, and I don't want to give them any unwanted attention which might make them change their policy. I hope you understand...
However, it should be easy to find them by searching for "lophophora" on www.ebay.co.uk, and following links back to people's websites.
I know peyote plants can get through your customs, I know of many instances of it being OK and only a few times have I heard of people's stuff getting confiscated. However, seeds should be much easier to get through, and you can graft them onto pereskiopsis after a few days, or onto myrtillocactus or trichocereus after a month or so.

I wasnt looking for sources on either.

I have some Novo seeds coming and I was just looking for some general tips.

Thanks open...Now I have a bit of confidence that I will recieve them.

I know you weren't, i'm just saying in general, i'm lax about the sources stuff, but for these things we shouldn't publicly be saying much of anything just to be safe than sorry.

yeah i can vouch for the ability of seeds of both to travel trans-continental without too much drama.. it all depends on discretion, subtlety and packaging..
Of course i would never import something illegal, but i have heard along the cacti vine that it is possible...
And both have great viability if germinated fresh :wink:

(p.s if u want maximum growth rates on both of them germinate on heat mat with humidity dome for first little while then transfer into grow set up when appropriate, just make sure u harden them off slowly before increasing light intensity)
