JizzMasterZero said: I hope mine make berries this year. I even have a few flowers now. I've never seen even one insect interested in the flowers. I might try to pollinate with a small paint brush or something. I gave it a half assed effort once last year with no luck. Any tips from you guys would be appreciated, and hopefully I could offer them in the trading section of the forum.
Same problem here. One of mine has flowered profusely but has yet to set any berries. Lately though ants have been walking all up and down the plants and in the flowers so i hope that could help. No other way has worked. No pollination happening here.

Dude the reason I didnt reply to your many pms is because your messages where childish using my pet dinosaur and swim and all the othe shit annoys me. Now youve asked properly I will pm you. Check pms also the berries aint viable for long they need to be sealed and generally planted in the tube incase of germination so they dont die. A seedling would be better. I would expect to pay for it as beeries are hard to get and not many will give them away when they could use it to have another plant for them self. That pm I sent will help you.
I hate that shit. Some people feel it gets them off the hook should they be busted. Fucking stupid.

I got one that looks the same. The other one is way bushy. I harvested some leaves and took a ride on the "high"way .

I wanted to bump this thread now that warmer weather is here. I repotted my three E. novo plants today. This time I put them in 12 inch clay pots and used a mix of potting soil, gravel, coarse sand, small amount of cow manure, and I sprinkled in a small amount of sulfur based soil acidifier. They have been outside for a few weeks already, although I brought them in for a few cold nights. My plants grew slowly and flowered all winter, and they have new flowers now. I think they will soon be big enough to start harvesting some leaves, and I may consider pruning them if I can find any information about it.

My plants are growing, and I see immature flower buds forming everywhere. I'm happy to see this thread get going again, this seems to be the only place to get information about this plant. The web is full of info about sprouting seeds, but that's about it. I'm going to look around on YouTube for some documentaries to see the coca fields in South America to watch the workers care for the plants and harvest leaves. Although I'm more successful growing kratom, I think that as my E novo and khat plants come of age they will become my favorites.

Looking absolutely stunning, JMZ.
I think they'd dry out a bit too fast here in clay. What size pots are those? 5 gallon-ish?

They are 14 inch pots, maybe 3.5 - 4 gallons, but definitely not 5. I think you're right, they might dry too fast in clay, we will see. I'm thinking clay will be the way to go for my khats though. I'm really excited to start plucking some leaves before long, I bet it would help with the headache I have now.

^^^ I spoke with a khat farmer in South Africa on another forum last year. I wish I still had that message. He said that khat requires a lot of pruning to make a potent end product and then the freshest growth is what you want, He even went as far as to say to discard the clippings while the plants are small. I'm sure I'll chew them anyway, but don't get discouraged if it doesn't meet your expectations at first. It will likely get better as the plant matures. He really did stress the importance of aggressive pruning, not just to make it easier to harvest but to make a more desirable material. I think it will take time and patience.
